How To Take Back The Congress
Meanwhile, the chief blocker to any action blames President Bush. That works for some braindead liberals, but most Americans with half a brain knows which branch of the government is responsible for budgetary spending, and it's not the executive branch! This is a bandwagon the GOP had better hit hard and fast! Just look at the evidence;
"Even some Democrats are getting antsy, fearing the party's stance could hurt them in the fall elections. But Pelosi, who has opposed offshore drilling throughout her two decades in Congress, insists opening new areas to drilling won't lower gas prices in the short term. She believes a vote would only help the GOP blame Democrats for high gas prices."
Democrats are somewhere in la-la Land on this;
"Responding to the fact that a majority if her constituents disagree with her on the issue, Sen. Barbara Boxer (D-CA) told the Chronicle: “The appropriate question is if you knew you could get more energy from efficiency and clean technologies such as solar, wind and geothermal, would you rather do that or drill along our pristine coast and risk harming a multibillion-dollar tourism, fishing and recreation economy.”
Ms. Boxer, our cars do not run on solar, wind or geothermal energy. Not only that you clueless excuse for a blonde, the very fact that we DO drill for oil, relieves the natural seepage, and resultant "tar" [which we had when I was a kid growing up in SoCal] washing up on your "pristine" beaches!
As long as Pelosi & Reid keep blocking any solutions to our oil woes, this is the one issue that will insure the GOP of taking back the house and senate! Even die-hard Democrats are having pain every time they go to the pump, it's time you in Republican leadership get a clue.

I am so proud of three of Michigan's Congressmen to the United States House of Representatives: Rep. Thadeus McCotter, serving Western Oakland and Western Wayne Counties; Rep. Mike Rogers, representing the Lansing area; and Rep. Tim Walberg, representing South Central communities including Battle Creek and Jackson. These three men have taken the courageous stand against a fascist democrat majority in support of forcing an up or down vote on our energy crises prior to the House leaving for a 5 week vacation. The majority party left before noon on Friday, August 1st, without allowing even any discussion on the obvious solution to our growing crisis ... DRILL HERE, DRILL NOW. The Republican Party members who stayed, including the three Congressmen from the Great State of Michigan, have earned my admiration and have energized the conservative base like no other issue has in many years. GREAT JOB GUYS ... STAND STRONG UNTIL THE WILL OF "WE THE PEOPLE" IS DONE!!
